Entrepreneur, the international business publication, has written about GeCrypto. The article, "Georgia Wrote Clear Crypto Rules. Now Fintechs Like GeCrypto Are Racing to Become the Country's First Crypto Unicorn," examines how Georgia's regulated crypto market came together and which companies are building the connection between digital assets and conventional banking. That market rests on the licensing framework introduced in 2023, which placed crypto businesses under National Bank supervision and turned an exchange into an ordinary financial operation, documented end to end.
For our team, the coverage is a meaningful acknowledgement of the work behind it. In a few years GeCrypto has grown from a local exchange desk into a fintech company with a widening product line and plans to integrate crypto further into banking infrastructure.
Yaroslav Bulatov, Head of Product at GeCrypto:
"Reading the piece, we kept thinking that someone from the outside had described us more accurately than we usually describe ourselves. When licensing arrived in 2023, much of the market treated it as an added cost and a reason to slow down. We went the other way and spent close to a year on the application: AML policies, internal procedures, regulator inspections. At the time it felt like taking the long way around while competitors carried on as before. Looking back, that year decided who clients with serious money come to today. Recognition from a business publication of this level tells us the call was right."
